Plan your performance film ↗A few practical details.
Can you organise showreel filming for an entire year group?
Yes. We build a filming schedule with your team around student numbers, disciplines and your timetable. Each student's sessions and takes stay clearly identified, with an agreed selection process and individual delivery. The number of filming days depends on the performances and final films you need.
Can you film at our college, and what facilities do you need?
Yes, we film at colleges and performance venues across the UK. You don't need a dedicated filming studio. We assess the available space, lighting, noise, power and access with your team, then agree what equipment to bring and how to prepare the room before the shoot.
How do you capture the full performance without losing the detail?
We plan coverage around the choreography and staging. Wide shots keep full-body movement and group formations clear; closer angles capture expression where they support the piece. Depending on the brief, we can record a complete single-camera performance or create a multi-camera edit without losing the sense of the whole routine.
Will filming disrupt our rehearsals or the live audience?
We plan setup and camera positions with your production team to minimise disruption. For live shows, we agree sightlines, access and any space or seats that need reserving before the performance. Rehearsal access, where available, helps us prepare for movement and lighting changes without interrupting the show.
What about singing and live sound?
We plan audio alongside the picture. For singing sessions, we agree microphones, accompaniment or backing tracks before filming. For live shows, we coordinate with your sound team on desk feeds and additional recording where needed. The setup depends on the venue and performance; the montages above are silent visual examples.
How do selection, revisions and delivery work?
We agree who selects takes and approves edits before filming. For student reels, each performer can select within an agreed review window; for shows, we work with your nominated reviewer. Your proposal sets out revisions, formats and delivery dates. Finished files are clearly named, with individual student delivery where required.
Can you livestream the show as well as record it?
Yes, subject to a suitable technical setup. We check the venue's connection, streaming platform, audience access and relevant permissions before confirming the plan. A live broadcast and an edited performance film are different outputs, so we agree whether you need one or both and prepare the production accordingly.
Can you capture both landscape and vertical video?
Yes. We plan the framing around where the footage will be used, from landscape showreels and full performances to vertical social clips. Where both are needed, we agree the approach before filming so performers and choreography stay properly framed, rather than relying on a tight crop afterwards.
